Long before I ever thought about becoming a chef, I was busy living life.
I worked in the travel industry, arranging yacht charters in the South Pacific, planning special adventure holidays, and working as a corporate travel and special events coordinatlor at the Walt Disney Company. My work took me to many exotic places where I experienced different cultures, discovered new foods, and encountered cooking styles very different from my own.
I have always loved to travel, entertain, feed and meet people, and experience new places. I wasn't planning a career—I was simply enjoying the journey.
Then, almost on a whim, I enrolled in culinary school because I wanted to learn how to bake. I had no idea that one decision would change the course of my life.
After culinary school, I began volunteering at a Zen retreat center. Before long, I found myself in the kitchen, and one opportunity led to the next. I wasn't searching for a career—it found me.
Over the years, I've come to realize that every gathering is a meaningful celebration. Food has a beautiful way of bringing people closer, sparking laughter, conversation, and genuine connection that lingers long after the table is cleared.
Food does more than feed us. It brings us together, creates moments of connection, and becomes part of the memories we carry with us long after the table has been cleared
That's what Stillwater Catering is all about.
Not just preparing beautiful food, but creating moments people will remember.
After all these years, I still cook for the same reason I always have
I love feeding people
